MJSA Architects Established in 1973, MJSA Architects has spent the last four decades building throughout the beehive state and surrounding intermountain west. An early tenant and pioneer of the revitalization of Salt Lake's downtown west edge, our open Pierpont Ave studio has fostered collaboration and team integration with our clients and consultants, resulting in a broad range of creative solutions and successful projects including single and multi-family residential, historic preservation and adaptive re-use, restaurants and institutional work at the U of U and BYU. MJSA promotes sustainable design principles and our portfolio includes LEED Gold certified projects as well as the Artspace Solar Garden project which was the first net zero multi-family building with onsite solar production in the state of Utah. As a mid-sized, or "boutique", firm, communication and collaborative skills are essential, and our staff size and personality provides genuine and personal service.
Artspace Solar Gardens Opened in August 2013. It is the first net zero mixed-use energy building with onsite solar production in the state of Utah. Solar Gardens is close to downtown on the 800 South bike path, two blocks from the 900 South TRAX stop, and includes a community garden, affordable residential units, and street level artist studios, office and retail space.
Artspace Solar Gardens has 859 solar photovoltaic panels on the building's roof and adjacent solar structure. Check out how much energy the building is producing!
In recognizing that choices made at work may affect the greater community, the Uinta Team has adopted practices to reduce waste and conserve energy. Becoming more efficient while reducing waste and conserving energy is an on-going process and a challenge we feel is worth the effort.
Salt Lake City Green Drinks typically meets every 4th Tuesday and is a fun, informal opportunity for people interested in sustainability to get together & talk “green."
