Green Drinks is coming back to Chesapeake!

We will NOT have a Green Drinks event this month, but we will be back on Tuesday, May 28, 6 pm to 8 pm at YNot Italian in Greenbrier, 1036 Volvo Parkway, Suite 7 Chesapeake, VA, 23320.

On Tuesday, April 23, the City Council will hold its public hearing on the City 2025 budget and some may wish to attend that.  I know I'll be speaking on items on behalf of the Friends of Indian River.  One disappointing item in the budget is that the City again did not fund creating an Urban Forestry Management Plan, something we've been asking to be funded for many, many years.   Overall, the big ticket item in the 2025 Capital Budget is the Public Safety Training Academy off Battlefield Blvd in Southern Chesapeake; $143.35 million is budgeted which is 38% of the entire 2025 Capital Budget.  You can find the proposed budget at Budget Department | Chesapeake, VA (cityofchesapeake.net)

Do come out this Saturday, April 20, from noon to 4 pm at Campostella Park (next to the Cuffee Center) and check out Chesapeake's first big Earth Day Festival.  Please help spread the word to make this event a success and set the stage for future events!  Lots of great groups will be tabling and the Tree Board will be giving away Native Trees and Plants.  There will be Games, Music, Education and more.  Please help spread the word to make this event a success and set the stage for future events!

What is Green Drinks?

Green Drinks is mostly for people working on environmental issues, but anyone can come -- people from environment groups, business, government, academia and as individuals. There is no 'us and them'.  Green Drinks is a chance to mingle, share insights, inspire and delight each other.

Come out and order some food or a drink (each participant pays for their own drinks and food; if drinking, please do so responsibly!) and join the conversation.  Please do share the invite with others who may be interested.

Green Drinks as an entity does not endorse or have a position or stance on any specific topic - but attendees may!
