What is the Green Drinks Corner Brook recipe?
A jovial mix of people from all walks of life from business, government, academia, NGOs, outdoor tourism, to anyone else interested in the environment + a few pints (or non-alcoholic drinks) = A relaxed and agenda-free evening of enviro-meeting and greeting.
Green Drinks International started in the UK in 1989 and has rapidly become a worldwide event with over 800 chapters! These events are very simple and unstructured. There are no presentations or agendas, just a relaxed and inviting atmosphere to unwind in and chat about what ever environmental topics interest you. It's also a great way to network and have fun. Many people have made friends, met new business partners, developed new ideas, found employment and had moments of serendipity.
When:
The first Thursday of every month from 7pm - 9:00pm.
The evening is unstructured, so feel free to drop in at whatever time suits your schedule.
Where:
King Henry's Pub in the Glynmill Inn (Must be 19 years of age older).
1B Cobb Lane, Corner Brook, Newfoundland, A2H 6E6. Tel: 709-634-5181.
This lively little pub has a selection of local and imported beers, including some on tap. They also have a delicious pub menu if you are hungry after a hard day at work or school.
How to attend:
RSVPS are not necessary, just drop on by - we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. And by all means, bring your friends, family or colleagues! Green Drinks is a great way of catching up with people you know and for making new contacts. Our average attendance varies and it's a different group every month...we are definitely not cliquey!
