Are You Green?

Every month professional people who work in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions and networking known as Green Drinks.

These events are FREE, very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. It's a force for the good and we'd like to help it spread to others. Timonium Green Drinks mission is to promote "Living Clean & Green" and to be the place to get local information on how to "Go Green" and to help educate others to live an environmentally responsible life.

Consider this your invitation to join Timonium Green Drinks as we spend a splendid evening at the Manor Tavern next Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 6 - 8:30 pm as we plan to celebrate Earth Day and have our "Annual Champagne Toast" to Raising Awareness to Sustain the Chesapeake Bay as a National Treasure. And to top it off there will be plenty of food, door prizes and a cash bar. We have a lively mixture of people from an array of industries (NGOs, academia, government and business) and we get plenty of visitors from the surrounding communities who join in as well for they are interested in learning more about "Going Green" or they may just be looking to connect with a local contractor. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Timonium Green Drinks an organic, self-organizing network.

Saving the Bay in Baltimore County

Baltimore County has 200 miles of Chesapeake Bay coastline, but it is the 2,100 miles of streams in the county that have a greater impact on the health of the Bay as they connect the land and water. Presenter, Erin Wisnieski, a Natural Resource Specialist with Baltimore County's Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability, will discuss the county's watershed management program. Find out how you can help to protect or improve local streams and the bay at home, work, or school.

This annual stream and watershed cleanup, sponsored by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, is a great way to help your local streams and the Chesapeake Bay. There are cleanup sites throughout the Baltimore area. A great activity for families, groups, and individuals.
