Locally Sourced: Buying Fresh Produce, Meats, and More

What says summer more than fresh fruits and vegetables? We welcome a panel of area farmers and other experts for a panel discussion about the many options for fresh, locally sourced produce, meats, cheeses, and more. Enjoy some delicious pizza and get answers to all your questions about the local fresh food scene.
All are welcome to attend! Suggested donation of $5 ($2 for students). Socializing starts at 6:30pm and the presentation at 7:00pm.
The event will be held at Greek's Pizzeria at 59 Indiana Avenue in Valparaiso. Drinks, food, and conversation start at 6:30 pm and Luther's presentation at 7:00 pm. Time for Q&A will follow. There is a suggested donation of $5 for adults and $2 for students.
Valparaiso Green Drinks meets bi-monthly on the third Monday. All are welcome to attend.

Gardens & Markets: What's Cultivating Locally?

What says summer more than fresh fruits and vegetables? We welcome a panel of three passionate individuals in the local fresh food scene. Dominique Edwards, Director of Development for Gary Urban Farms, will present her vision of a community garden for residents in Michigan City. Shane Hansen, Manager for Michigan City Farmers Market, will share the excitement of going organic in our city and on his organic Rainfield Farm. Teresa Lutton, Owner of Country Flavor, will share her adventure of deciding to raise naturally grown vegetables then becoming a supplier for Spire Farm-to-Fork Cuisine. To keep it on the light summer side, each will make a brief presentation then questions and answers will follow.
The event will be held at Shoreline Brewery at 208 Wabash in Michigan City. Drinks, food, and conversation start at 6:30 pm. Time for Q&A will follow. There is a suggested donation of $5 for adults and $2 for students.
