When: The 1st Tuesday of each month from 6 - 8pm

*From 6-6:30pm we encourage attendees to network with one another, order food, and get settled in. The guest speaker's presentation will begin at 6:30pm. Mama Pearl's does not serve alcohol however attendees are welcome to bring their own (byob).*

Green Drinks in Gary, Indiana is part of the international Green Drinks network which is an informal, volunteer-managed social networking group built around a common interest and passion for the environment, sustainability and community. Green Drinks Gary is committed to informing the community on local green efforts happening in their neighborhoods, why it's important to each and every community member's personal life, and how to get involved. Please come enjoy great presentations, food and conversation with friends, family and your neighbors!

Thomas Frank is a board member of the Southeast Environmental Task Force and former director of the East Chicago Waterway Management District (ECWMD). The ECWMD was charge with managing the cleanup of the Indiana Harbor Shipping Canal considered to be the most polluted waterway in the country. Thomas is a artist and activist who has been working for environmental justice and Climate Justice in the Great Lakes and Calumet regions for the past decade. He is committed to addressing heavily contaminated region and bringing them back into use for community-focused development and a Just Transition to a low-carbon economy.
