May Event

May 12th from 6 - 8 pm at Rock Island Public House

Speaker is Berenice Vallecillos, Outreach Associate, Chicago MethroMetropolitany for Planning. The talk will focus on our next comprehensive  regional plan called ON TO 2050.  The host will long time green drinks supporter be Jason Berry jberry [at] cityofblueisland [dot] org 

July Event

July 27th from 5:30 - 7:30 at Camp Bullfrog Lake in Willow Springs

Hosted by Justin Mercer from the Forest Preserves of Cook County this is one of TWO outdoor green drinks we will be having this year. Most of the program will be dedicated to enjoying this beautiful site and learning about the camping opportunities.  Contact: Justin.Mercer [at] cookcountyil [dot] gov.

 

August Event

August 11th from 5: 30 - 7:30 at Indian Boundary Prairies (option to arrive early for tour)

Address: 3454 W. 155th Street Markham, IL

Allison Sacerdote from The Lincoln Park Zoo will be presenting at 6:30 about smooth green snakes. This will be a BYOB, with TNC providing snacks, pizza, and soft drinks.  Parking is limited so we want to encourage people to carpool or take public transportation.  There is a Metra Rock Island station in Midlothian where people can be picked up. The organizer for this event is Mary Anicich (manicich@tnc.org).

November Event

November 10th from 6 - 8 pm at Dan Ryan Woods

November takes us back Dan Ryan woods were we have had so many successful events. This Green Drinks will highlight the history, achievements, and future plans for Openlands TreeKeepers and the Chicago Region Trees Initiative. As part of the 25th Anniversary of Openlands TreeKeepers, Daniella Pereira, Regional Forester for Openlands will invite TreeKeepers and others to share their tree stories in an open mic

The Lot off of 87th has stairs to the pavilion.  The lot in front of the pavilion you can park there and walk up to the pavilion.  You can also drive up to the pavilion and get dropped off and go park in the lot.  Also, we have 3 handicap spots by the pavilion.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
