Saanich Historical Artifacts Society (S.H.A.S.) is a volunteer society dedicated to the preservation of our past for the future.
The Society is dedicated to collecting, restoring, housing, and demonstrating artifacts from our rural past. We have one of Western Canada’s largest collections of working steam engines, tractors, agricultural machinery, and household and industrial artifacts.
The property includes two-room 1913 Saanich schoolhouse, a replica log cabin from early settlers, a replica pioneer chapel, several scale model trains run by the Vancouver Island Model Engineers, a sawmill, planer's shed and blacksmith shop as well as other various buildings, tractors, steam engines and heritage farm equipment.
Heritage Acres is available for family parties, meetings, weddings and community workshops on a year round basis. In the summer BBQ and picnic facilities are also available.
BRING YOUR OWN PICNIC and a DONATION FOR HERITAGE ACRES (recommended $5-10)
