Better Transit for the Saanich Peninsula: Lessons from rural Switzerland and beyond
Transportation is the second-largest contributor to climate pollution in Canada, and between 1990 and 2014 climate pollution from transportation increased 32%. Better transit is part of the solution, both to the climate crisis and for improving livability. But public transit is often portrayed as something that can only work well within big high density cities. Find out how Switzerland brings quality public transit to small towns and rural areas, and how these practices could be applied on the Saanich Peninsula.
