HiHi all Green Drinkers! - March 2010
Now that 2010 is well underway I have some group changes that need to be made. I have left Korea to move back to my home of Toronto Canada. Therefore, there is now a position open for someone who might be interested in continuing the success of Green Drinks Korea.
Over the past couple years Green Drinks Korea has grown into a large group with lots of members from different cultures and nationalities. We've hosted many events from Park clean up days, educational days, parties and fund raising with the most recent being the hugely successful "Hands for Haiti" fund raiser.
Green Drinks leaders require a high level of personal drive and motivation, commitment and a great personality. Running Green Drinks events is not a difficult venture. It requires some time and little bit of spirit and a passion to get people involved. I can help from over here with suggesting venues for events, even ideas for events if needed.
I will provide whom ever takes over all passwords and quick how to for Facebook, and Greendrinks.org website.
If you are interested please let me know. There is a lot of support out there so don't be too shy to take on a new challenge. It's an amazing way to meet people and get involved in our community in Korea.
I will all the best to everyone back in Korea and I hope that we can meet again some day to rekindle our friendships.

Hands for Haiti - We can give hope!
Nearly a month ago, on January 12, 2010, a devastating 7.0 earthquake struck in Haiti. An estimated 200,000 people were killed and 1.5 million left homeless. Thousands are in desperate need of food, shelter and water. Donations of food, money and medical supplies are flowing into Haiti but continuing support is needed. Come out to show your support and give to the cause of relief efforts in Haiti. You can help!
On Friday, February 12, PLUR and Green Drinks Seoul are coming together to bring you Hands for Haiti, a benefit concert at 3 great music venues in Hongdae.
The cover charge is 10,000 won and will get you into FF, Jane’s Groove and DGBD in Hongdae. 100% of the cover charge will go to Save the Children’s fund for Haiti relief. Jane’s Groove, DGBD & FF have also generously offered to donate a portion of every drink sold!
The line-up will be announced soon–check out the Hands for Haiti Facebook Page for updates. Also, volunteers are needed! If you’re interested check out the facebook page event to get in touch with the right people.

Get Dirty in May - Han River Clean up
Mangwon
We will be getting together along the Han River at Mangwon, near Mapo Area which is closish to Hagjong area - which happens to be known for being dirty - trash, garbage, and lots of other waste which dirty up Seoul.
We will meet in the early afternoon at 2pm and clean for a couple hours. After we will have a picnic along the river. Please bring your own chopsticks and drinking cup. Also, if you can bring 2000 won for lunch to be ordered.

We had a great time getting together for the Seoul Green Drinks event at Jase Trendy Bar. We had many more people then expected arriving. Around 45 people attended the first event of 2009. A great success. Thanks everyone for coming out and supporting Green Drinks and environment.
For the May event we are planning a Han River Clean up day and we will having a picnic in the late afternoon with drinks and food for everyone to share in after the clean-up.
More information will be posted soon regarding the upcoming event along the Han River.
