Welcome to Green Drinks Saigon.

We're the 455 Green Drink City to set-up in the world and the first in Vietnam. This amazing, diverse, historic and modern city is rapidly moving forwards economically.

So Green Drinks Saigon is a starting point. It's a networking evening where we get together people like:

• Environmental scientists
• Social entrepreneurs
• Academics and government institutes
• Marketeers and Corporate Social Responsibility officers
• Investors and CDM Project Owners
• Students
• And anyone that has a desire to add something positive into the mix. Job seekers are also welcome.

Agenda:

The evening begins with a short presentation from an industry expert (please contact us if you would like to present at a future event) followed by drinks and lively conversation.

We come together, meet each other, swap cards, swap stories, swap ideas and make contacts and make plans.

Don't worry, you can drink coffee or Da Chanh (real 'green' drinks don't taste too good)

Chúng tôi là Thành Phố Green Drink thứ 455 được thành lập trên thế giới và là đầu tiên tại Việt Nam. Thành phố đáng ngạc nhiên, đa dạng, mang tính lịch sử nhưng cũng hiện đại này đang nhanh chóng phát triển về mặt kinh tế.

Chúng ta (kể cả bạn) cần chia sẻ niềm đam mê, trí óc, kỹ năng tiếp thị, kiến thức khoa học, tài năng kiến trúc và khả năng kinh doanh nhằm đảm bảo Việt Nam phát triển theo một đường hướng vững chắc.

Do đó Green Drinks Saigon là điểm xuất phát. Đó là một buổi họp mặt buổi tối của:

• Các nhà khoa học về môi trường.
• Các nhà doanh nghiệp đoàn thể.
  
• Các viện sĩ và các viện nghiên cứu cấp chính quyền.
• Các thương nhân và Corporate Social Responsibility.
  
• Các nhà đầu tư và chủ dự án.
  
• Sinh viên.

• Và bất cứ ai có mong muốn đóng góp tích cực cho cuộc hội thảo. Những người đang tìm việc làm cũng được chào đón.
  

Khuôn khổ:

Cuộc hội thảo sẽ bắt đầu bằng một bài thuyết trình ngắn của một chuyên gia trong lĩnh vực (vui lòng liên hệ với chúng tôi nếu bạn có mong muốn được thuyết trình), có nước uống và tiếp đó là một buổi nói chuyện sôi động.

Chúng ta sẽ ngồi lại với nhau, gặp gỡ, trao đổi danh thiếp, hội thoại, trao đổi ý kiến, liên lạc và lên kế hoạch.

Đừng lo lắng! Bạn có thể uống café hoặc đá chanh tùy sở thích (những loại thức uống thực sự “xanh” không ngon cho lắm).

About Our Speakers

Vietnam Green Building Council

The Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) is a project of the Green Cities Fund, Inc. (GCF), an international non-governmental organisation based in Oakland, California. GCF was granted operating permission in Vietnam by PACCOM on January 1, 2008 and since then the permission has been renewed annually.

The VGBC is a non-profit organisation and functions solely to build up a green construction environment in Vietnam. The  council has been officially   recognised by the Vietnam Mi nistry of Construction in March 2009 and since then the ministry has constantly provided support in legal and technical aspects.

Lần này, Green Drink sẽ tiếp tục cộng tác với Hội Đồng Công Trình Xanh Việt Nam (VGBC) để công bố Niên giám các sản phẩm và dịch vụ xanh tại Việt Nam. Cơ sở dữ liệu này hứa hẹn sẽ trở thành cầu nối giữa các đơn vị cung cấp vật liệu xanh với các nhà sản xuất, các nhà tư vấn với các đối tác chuyên môn cũng như giữa các chuyên gia xây dựng xanh với công chúng nói chung. Cơ sở dữ liệu này sẽ được chia sẻ miễn phí, bạn có thể tìm kiếm hoặc truy cập bất cứ khi nào.

Vài nét về VGBC

Vietnam Green Building Council

Hội đồng công trình xanh Việt Nam (VGBC) là dự án của Quỹ Thành phố Xanh, Inc. (GCF), một tổ chức phi chính phủ quốc tế có trụ sở ở Oakland, California. GCF được PACCOM (Ủy ban công tác về các tổ chức phi chính phủ nước ngoài) cấp giấy phép hoạt động ở Việt Nam vào tháng 1 năm 2008 và kể từ đó giấy phép hoạt động được gia hạn hàng năm.

VGBC là một tổ chức phi lợi nhuận và có các chức năng duy nhất là xây dựng một môi trường xây dựng xanh ở Việt Nam. Hội đồng được Bộ Xây dựng Việt Nam chính thức công nhận vào tháng 3, 2009 và từ đó luôn được Bộ hỗ trợ về các phương diện pháp lý và kỹ thuật.

Please join Green Drinks 7 on 18th January for a special evening of performance, presentations and audience participation, with renowned engineer Hajo Sauer (IBS-Sauer) and Urban Design students from the HCM University of Architecture (UARC). The audience will learn to consider the energy impact of their activities, their environment, carbon impacts here in Ho Chi Minh City, and to participate in the discussions and debate. The design students will also provide an entertaining performance on “Responsibility of our Green Impact”.

About Our Speakers

Hajo Sauer

IBS-Sauer is a Consulting Engineering practice originally founded by Hajo Sauer’s father Hans Sauer in Germany in 1948. From 1948 up 2006 IBS (http://ibs-sauer.com) designed and was responsible for half million square meter industrial grids and ¾ million square meter building floor space. Pursuant to Hajo´s early Green Building Design skills IBS focused more and more in energy efficient projects and IBS subsequently became a specialist in green buildings and tropical architecture.

In December 2006 Hajo moved to Vietnam with his Vietnamese wife and in 2008 he established, with Erich Dang, the Hirondelles Foundation to design the Green Village Hirondelles (http://wikibin.org/articles/hirondelles.html). Hirondelles is supported by UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Urban Development in Asia and Pacific. Hirondelles Foundation is sponsor of the current lecturing activities in Ho Chi Minh University of Architecture.

In December 2010 according the UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Urban Development in Asia and Pacific the students of Ho Chi Minh University of Architecture - Department Urban Design - decided together with Hajo Sauer to present speeches about Energy Impacts, Clean Development Designs and Tropical Architecture in Vietnam

Khán giả sẽ được thách thức với những ý tưởng về tác động của năng lượng đến các hoạt động, môi trường, ảnh hưởng của carbon ở Tp.HCM, và có dịp tham gia vào các cuộc thảo luận cũng như tranh luận. Các sinh viên thiết kế cũng sẽ đem đến phần trình diễn về đề tài “Trách Nhiệm của chúng ta về Tác Động Xanh”.

Hajo Sauer

Thân sinh của Hajo Sauer, Hans Sauer,là người đã thành lập nên IBS-Sauer tại Đức vào năm 1948. Từ năm 1948 đến 2006, IBS (http://ibs-sauer.com/) đã thiết kế và phụ trách 500.000m2 diện tích xây dựng công nghiệp và 750.000m2 diện tích sàn xây dựng. Với đam mê, kinh nghiệm và sự quan tâm tới Thiết kế và xây Dựng Xanh của Hajo, IIBS tập trung vào các dự án có hiệu suất năng lượng và dần dần trở thành chuyên gia trong lĩnh vực xây dựng xanh và kiến trúc nhiệt đới.

Tháng 12 năm 2006, Hajo chuyển đến Việt Nam cùng với người vợ Việt của ông. Năm 2008, Hirondelles Foundation được thành lập dựa trên sự hợp tác của ông với Erich Dang và đãthiết kế Green Village Hirondelles (http://wikibin.org/articles/hirondelles.html). Hirondelles được chủ tịch UNESCO hỗ trợ trong mô hình Phát Triển Đô Thị Bền Vững tại Châu Á và Thái Bình Dương. Ho Chi Minh City is very lucky to have both a rich mix of local and overseas environment and clean technology expertise. Green Drinks 6 on the 14th December is a special event where we host an evening with two seasoned investors who focus on funding clean, green and socially responsible businesses. Gavin Smith (Director of the Dragon Capital Clean Development Fund) and Stewart Davies (Business Development Leader, Small Giants) will introduce us to the world of socially responsible investing:

• Green and Socially Responsible investment (what it is and what it means)
  
• Consumer/B2B drivers for Greener business
  
• What type of businesses can get invested?
  
• What investors look for before investing?

Stewart will take us through seed and early stage investment. Gavin gives us perspective on the policies and needs behind mid-to-large scale investments in this space.

These will be open, interactive sessions, with plenty of time for Q&A and networking. RMIT University have kindly offered us their facilities and help for this special event.

About Our Speakers:

Gavin Smith

Gavin Smith is Director of the Dragon Capital Clean Development Fund. The only specialist Fund Investing in Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Waste Treatment in Vietnam. In the last decade, working in Europe and Asia, he has been part of making investing in sustainable, low carbon businesses part of the investment mainstream.

He has experience in financing the development of wind, hydro, biomass and solar power generation. Also, organic farming and food processing, sustainable consumer product businesses in every area, from bamboo, to cotton, to diamonds.  The key focus of his work in Vietnam is to develop business models in the energy market and waste treatment that deliver profit to investors and create a positive impact on society and the environment.

Stewart Davies

Based in South East Asia, Stewart represents an Australian company called Small Giants. Small Giants focuses on developing, managing and investing in companies with a social or environmental purpose. The strategic investments of Small Giants in Australia include green property development, food & hospitality, media and renewable energy with interests to develop this wider as the company grows. Currently investigating the South East Asia region, Small Giants is seeking to expand the ‘responsible’ or ‘impact’ investment model internationally.    

Stewart’s career has been a journey across the world involving many experiences crossing public & private sectors as well as international community development. After studying a Bachelor of Economics majoring in Management and a Masters degree in International Development, he has worked in more than a dozen countries from Africa, Central America to Asia. He is experienced in business development, program management, communications as well as stakeholder mobilisation & participatory training. He is a member of Registered Engineers for Disaster Relief (RedR Australia) and is also a recipient of a Churchill Fellowship from the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.

Gavin Smith, Dragon Capital

Gavin Smith là Giám Đốc Quỹ Phát Triển Sạch của Dragon Capital. Đây là quỹ duy nhất tại Việt Nam chuyên đầu tư vào các dự án liên quan tới Nhiên Liệu Tái Chế, Hiệu Suất Năng Lượng và Xử Lý Chất Thải.. Với 10 năm làm việc tại Châu Âu và Châu Á, ông đã góp phần đầu tư vào các ngành kinh doanh bền vững với hàm lượng carbon thấp – một phần trong xu hướng đầu tư chủ yếu hiện nay.

Stewart Davies, Small Giants

Stewart hiện đang làm việc tại trụ sở Đông Nam Á của công ty Small Giants. Small Giants tập trung phát triển, quản lý và đầu tư vào các công ty khác nhau có mục tiêu hướng tới xã hội hoặc môi trường. Những khoảnđầu tư chiến lược của Small Giants tại Úc gồm có phát triển bất động sản xanh, thực phẩm và nhà hàng, khách sạn, truyền thông và năng lượng tái sinh với mong muốn phát triển rộng rãi hơn khi công ty mở rộng quy mô. Dù mới chỉ thực hiện các dự án tại khu vực Đông Nam Á, Small Giants đang mong muốn mở rộng mẫu hình đầu tư “có trách nhiệm” và “hiệu quả” trên phạm vi quốc tế.
