In 2010 Greendrinks will be held every two months, starting in April. The Hawke's Bay Chamber of Commerce are organising Greendrink events with the help of 3R this year, and require different hosts. If you are interested in hosting an event, please let us know. It's not too stressful, doesn't need to cost you much, and we'll help you make the most of it. We'll give you a hand to organise the evening (include a quiz if you want one) and email invites, and you can have 5 minutes to tell everyone what you're up to in the world of sustainability.

So, What is Green Drinks?
The purpose of Green Drinks is to bring together people, every month, from different professions and backgrounds to share ideas about sustainability, climate change and environmental issues in Hawke’s Bay in a relaxed social setting. It’s about real people sharing their ideas and successes and for anyone who wants to understand how they also can make a difference.
The format for the Hawke’s Bay events will be casual, but each month we will try and introduce a topic of interest. You will be invited to share with us the things you would like to hear about and we will try and find someone to share their success stories and give you some inspiration. You won’t have to sit through any long speeches or presentations, as the focus is very much on interaction, networking and sharing ideas. We will keep the speakers, if we have one, to a short time slot (promise).
Green Drinks Hawke’s Bay events are open to any individual or business with an interest in sustainability and environmental issues. We will try very hard to keep things real and to not let anyone or any organisation use the events for commercial or political gain.

An active Hawke’s Bay branch of the Sustainable Business Network (www.sustainable.org.nz) is another step that is being developed.
We have reached the sustainability tipping point and the challenge for everyone is to understand what we can do individually to address what is becoming one of the central issues of our time. Albert Einstein once said, “The significant problems of our time cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them.” It’s time for some fresh thinking so join us each month to share your ideas. We will alternate monthly between Napier and Hastings and advise the format and venue for each event as it is planned. Add your name to our member directory NOW!
